Critical Care

 

The Critical Care Service at the TVEH works closely with other specialists and the Emergency Service to provide 24-hour intensive care and monitoring for our most critical patients. The team of highly trained technicians is supported by Drs. Ethier & Boudreau, allowing consistent and dependable care 24/7.

Drs. Ethier & Boudreau and the ICU team will be accepting primary case referrals 7 days per week for those patients necessitating continuous monitoring, treatment and stabilization for diseases such as:

Disease Management:

  • Acute renal failure and peritoneal dialysis       
  • Wound management
  • Epilepsy & traumatic brain injury                  
  • Shock
  • Pain management (Acute & Chronic)
  • Acute abdomen                                        
  • Transfusion medicine                 
  • Toxicities
  • Sepsis & SIRS                            
  • Electrolyte & acid base disturbances
  • DKA and hypoadrenocorticism                     
  • Respiratory (Cardiac & Non Cardiac)

Nutritional Management:

  • Enteral (tube feeding) nutrition                    
  • Parenteral (PPN & TPN) nutrtition
